GANESH CHATURTHI


Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Ganesha. It falls in the months of August or September of the Gregorian calendar. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesha clay idols privately in homes, or publicly on elaborate pandals. The festival ends on the tenth day after start,but we end it by one and a half day where the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or sea


DIWALI


                       



Diwali, Deepavali or Dipavali is Hindu and Jain festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance."In some parts of India, the day after Diwali is marked with the Govardhan Puja and Diwali Padva, which is dedicated to the relationship between wife and husband.

CARNIVAL


Carnival is an important festival that is celebrated during the month of February for four days. The festival is associated with the legendary king named as Momo who brought in peace, harmony, melody and color to different parts of Goa. During the festivities, people get involved in eating, drinking and enjoying to the fullest. All this happens after the 40 days of Lent. People wear amazing costumes

Conclusion

The religious festivals of India are Dussehra, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Id-ul-Fitr, Id-ul-Zuha, Gurunanak Jayanti, Christmas, Ganesh Chaturthi, Mahavir Jayanti etc. Though these festivals belong to different religions yet they are celebrated by the people all over India.  Similarly, Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations of Maharashtra are one of the biggest in the country.
